Passion for future careers?

Closing the achievement gap?

It’s all here.

The one thing new students and families always say once they've enrolled at ECS is that it is unlike any school experience they've had before. The world is changing faster every day and we believe education should be nimble and responsive to the needs of students today and tomorrow. Collaborative teaching methods rooted in real-world problems engage children in integrated learning and foster empathy as our students discover ways to look at issues from different viewpoints.

Holistic, Authentic Learning

Ecoliteracy

All systems in the world are connected. Our students learn that our decisions ripple through natural, social, and built systems. Ecoliteracy creates systems thinking that follows our students into their life pathways.

Multidisciplinary

Classes consider real-world problems and think about them across several disciplines. This gives students a holistic perspective and approach to critical/creative thinking and problem-solving.

"Out-The-Door” Education

Working through problems outside the classroom in nature and the community deepens the relevance of knowledge. We’re building a greater understanding through authentic learning.

Whole Child Development

Keeping students healthy, safe, supported, and challenged is essential to helping them reach their full potential. A feeling of belonging and connection allows students and adults to engage and thrive.

As the world changes

and becomes increasingly more complex, global citizens will need to be equipped with skills that allow them to be flexible thinkers, creative problem solvers, and effective leaders.”

Project-Based Learning

ECS teachers use PBL to guide students through inquiry-based experiences and often include an end-of-unit exhibition demonstrating what they accomplished.

Unique Academics & Curriculum

We emphasize design thinking, collaborative learning, and problem-based instruction while promoting a sense of community and providing a strong framework for social-emotional learning.

Differentiated Instruction

Differentiation is a successful approach used by teachers to design instruction that meets individual needs. Content, processes, products, ongoing assessment, flexible grouping, and the learning environment can be targeted to fit each learner.

Our Faculty & Staff

The faculty and staff are passionate, talented, and uncompromising with a mission to make sure all students succeed at a high level. The staff at ECS overwhelmingly believes in our mission.

Multi-Tiered Support

Comprehensive, student-centered support includes standards-aligned, culturally responsive, high-quality instruction; universal screening; data-based decision-making; tiered services and supports; and family engagement.

Educating for Sustainability

The UN Sustainable Development Goals provide a shared plan and strategies for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. We strive to incorporate the UN goals as we approach our work, instruction, and activities.

Advance High School Coursework

ECHS students have the opportunity to participate in rigorous honors, AP, and dual enrollment with local colleges. If they score well on the accompanying AP test, students can earn college credit and/or bypass some general education requirements once they enroll in college.
